If you grew up in southern India, the scent of fresh wood pressed coconut oil is more than just a kitchen staple, it’s the scent of home. In the south, we call it Mara Chekku. Unlike refined oils that are bleached and deodorised until they lose their soul, our oil smells deeply and purely of fresh coconuts.

We don't use high-speed metal expanders that "burn" the oil. We stick to the traditional wooden ghani, rotating at a slow 14 RPM. This keeps the temperature under 35°C, ensuring that the healthy medium-chain fatty acids (lauric acid) remain fully intact.

The "Solid Proof" of Purity

One of the most common questions we get is, "Why did my oil turn into a white solid?"

The 24°C Rule: Pure, original coconut oil naturally solidifies below 24°C. If your "coconut" oil stays liquid in a cold room or a fridge, it has likely been adulterated with mineral oil.

How to use: On a cold morning, simply place the bottle in a bowl of warm water for a minute. It will liquefy perfectly without losing any nutrients. In a Hyderabad or Chennai summer, it will stay a beautiful, clear liquid.

Beyond the Kitchen: Hair, Face, and Body

For Hair Growth: Coconut oil for hair isn't a myth. It is one of the few oils that can actually penetrate the hair shaft to reduce protein loss. For the best coconut oil for hair results, apply it consistently twice a week, it’s a long-term recovery tool, not an overnight fix.

For Face & Skin: It’s a gentle, natural moisturizer and an incredible makeup remover. Is coconut oil good for face? Yes, especially for dry skin types. It provides a natural barrier without the need for synthetic silicones.

Oil Pulling: For those practicing coconut oil pulling, our wood-pressed version is ideal. It’s anti-bacterial and has a much cleaner, more pleasant taste than refined alternatives.
